Oct 8 Rector’s Forum: The 1979 Book of Common Prayer

This year the Rector’s Forum will explore what was unique about the 1979 edition of the Book of Common Prayer. How has it changed our church? Are we growing out of it…or have we even grown into it yet?  This first class will look at the church in the mid-20th century to explore the reasons for the “new” prayer book in 1979, and the unique process by which it came together. Led by the Rev. Bernard J. Owens

Oct 15:  Considering Confederate Monuments

How might the church approach the delicate question of confederate monuments?  The Racial Justice and Reconciliation team had been planning this class well before this summer’s events in Charlottesville, making this discussion all the more timely. Led by Dr. Joe Graves.
