The Rev. Brooks Johnson Deacon Brooks was born and raised on Long Island, New York where he first served the Episcopal Diocese of Long Island as their Director of Youth Ministry for five years beginning in 1999. Youth ministry work brought him to NC where he served St. Paul’s Episcopal Church in Winston Salem for three years prior to entering Divinity School at Wake Forest University. It was during his middle year that he did his first unit of CPE or Clinical Pastoral Education in 2007 and fell in love with the role of a chaplain. As a result following a yearlong residency at Wake Forest Baptist Medical Center and then achieving his degree in Anglican Studies at Virginia Theological Seminary, he began to pursue his call to chaplaincy. Currently he is a clinical chaplain at High Point Regional Health. From his deep-seated commitment to koinonia, Brooks continually strives for ways to support all staff, build bridges between the hospital and local community, in addition to his patient and family care. He holds dear the various opportunities he has had throughout his career to teach and coach various athletic teams. Brooks and his spouse Catherine have two children, live in Greensboro and are honored to be a part of the St. Andrew’s faith community. Brooks can be reached at firstname.lastname@example.org .
