Sunday mornings are an important part of our children’s fellowship. Children aged 4 through 2nd grade are welcome to join us for children’s chapel during the 10am service each Sunday.
Sunday School classes for all ages are offered after the 10am service. Our monthly Sunday School schedule follows this rotation:
|1st Sunday||2nd Sunday||3rd Sunday||4th Sunday||5th Sunday|
|1st Sunday Fellowship in the Parish Hall(families)||Godly Play(age 4- 2nd grade)||Episcopal Children’s Curriculum(All Children)||Godly Play(age 4- 2nd grade)||Episcopal Children’s Curriculum(All children)|
|Kids of the Kingdom(Grades 3-5)||Kids of the Kingdom(Grades 3-5)|
Children meet their teachers in front of the pulpit at the conclusion of the 10am service and then go together to the undercroft. Sunday school classes conclude at 12 noon. We do not have classes on the 1st Sunday: instead, we hope your whole family will join us in fellowship in the Parish Hall.
If you have questions, feel free to reach out to members of the Children’s Support Team: Lorin Kaley, Jennifer Jones, Peter Carver, Dania Ermentrout, Barbara Lawless and BJ Owens.
Children’s Chapel All children – especially those from preschool through 3rd grade – are invited to participate in Children’s Chapel. Early in the service the celebrant will invite children (and parents who wish to attend) to the chancel for a send-off, and the group will return at the Peace. Children’s Chapel is an age-appropriate liturgy that includes singing, exploration of the Gospel or other lectionary stories of the day, prayers and an activity.\
1st Sunday Fellowship: For the rest of the fall we’ll break away from the undercroft to join the congregation in fellowship in the Parish Hall.
Godly Play: Godly Play is a Montessori-based program that helps children explore their Christian faith and religious language through story, wonder and play. We offer a Godly Play class on the 2nd and 4th Sundays of the month.
Kids of the Kingdom: Kids of the Kingdom is a morning class for 3rd-5th graders and is offered on the 2nd and 4th Sundays.
Episcopal Children’s Curriculum: This class for all children explores faith, the bible and worship through the unique perspective of the Episcopal Church. This class is taught on the 3rd and 5th Sundays.
